Manning Architects performed programming and complete architectural and interior design services for Hudson News Concessions at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport for the following locations: Concourse B, C, D, retail kiosks and Main Terminal. The concessions included Creole Kitchen, Westwin News and Westwin News Retail Kiosks, and Perlis Cajun Clothing. A range of projects were undertaken varying between 500 – 3,000 square feet in size and all were completed in 2012. The renovations of these existing spaces included updating existing electrical, lighting, mechanical systems, finishes, and were redesigned and upgraded for code requirements and to improve the customer experience. All of these projects were executed on an expedited design and construction approach. This allowed the client to avoid lengthy business interruption in an airport terminal that serves over 10 million passengers per year.
