NOCCA is housed in the Lower Cotton Press Building, located on the Mississippi River in the Faubourg Marigny, a historic neighborhood adjacent to the French Quarter.
The design includes the retrofitting of two of the oldest structures in the complex to form a courtyard, providing a gateway to the school from Chartres Street. Adjacent to these historical structures is a new, three-story, elliptical structure that steps up toward the curve of the river. The NOCCA campus includes a 300-seat dance theater and a 200-seat experimental and recital theater. The campus also includes a library, classrooms, galleries, and studios to accommodate NOCCA’s various creative arts programs.
